About Covid-19 Antigen Test
- An antigen is a molecule capable of stimulating an immune response in the body. Its presence determines a present infection.
- Specificity of Antigen test is as high as 99.3% – 100% and if the result is positive antigen test there is no need to reconfirm with
RT PCR test. - Covid-19 Antigen test are recommended for people from containment zones, hot spots and hospitals
- The test is also advisable for asymptomatic patients undergoing surgical procedures, dental treatment, intervention procedure like endoscopy and dialysis
- Negative antigen test results for symptomatic patients with high fever, cough, sore throat needs to be reconfirmed with RT PCR test
